This is one of those really good places that you remember, and try to find again, every time in the future that you decide to have a pub lunch when touring. We were especially lucky to find it as it was nearly 3pm when usually lunch places are closed. We had a really good midweek lunch here today. I had the fish and chips, which were cooked to perfection and my husband had the BLT burger which was very nice. Would definitely recommend.

Visiting Aberdeen and its environs, we stumbled into the Vale Hotel, and how lucky we were to do so. Such a proper pub with outrageously friendly and generous people (perhaps we are judging by London standards), and the food is the real thing—so good, fresh, and satisfying. We spent the whole day there, aside from our visit to the nearby castle, and were sad when we had to leave in the evening. The Vale, and the people we met there (there were many locals popping in and out all day) constitute some of our warmest and most abiding memories of our trip, and we'd love to visit again some day.....

Clean and nice. The service and food excellent. It is a old typical scottish hotel. It is no toilet and shower in the rooms. But rooms are nice and clean. The shower and toilet room also nice and clean. Service and helpfulness is outstanding. Food is traditional and very good. Fresh and very good fish and chips. Big portions so it is value for money.
